Paging

Paging

In the UC environment, we use a software called Quicklert for our enterprise paging solution. This gives the ability to broadcast a page to any number of phones on UC defined by the agency. Paging can be designated by paging zone. A zone is defined by the area in which the page will be heard. The UC team will pre-configure all phones in a zone that will need to receive the page. Each zone will have its own paging number to initiate the page.

An inside 103 number, accessible only from within the UC environment, is dialed by each user authorized to make pages. The user will make their announcement into the handset and then hang up their phone. The page is immediately broadcast to all of the phones within the paging zone as they begin making the page.

Cost

This software is a “per device license” for each of the phones that will receive the page. The initial cost is $23.59 per device and $4.98 per year for maintenance on each device.

PHONES & WIRING

Paging works across all models of the UC phones and uses the existing UC network wiring. As long as the site you are looking to add paging to is a UC site and you have a phone placed everywhere that needs the ability to page or hear a page, there would be no additional wiring.

SETTING UP PAGING

If the paging option works for you, the next steps would be placing an Cherwell ticket to include the address of the location, telephone number of each phone that would need to be included in the Zone(s), and a GL to bill the charges to. We would then begin the process of setting it up. Submit Cherwell ticket using the following options: Submit Request, Phone/Fax, UC Desk Phone, Submit Request. If you have additional questions, please call the UC helpdesk and we can assist. 573-522-0082
